From AI to Entrepreneurship: A Day Inside the World of Technology

Technology is changing fast, and so are the careers behind it. During the Cronos Young Tech Day, 60 STEM students discovered what working in technology really looks like today.

For one day, technology became a little less abstract. Students joined talks, workshops and conversations with people working in the sector every day. They explored how AI is changing the workplace, discovered the many faces of software development and got a glimpse of the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of work.

Along the way, they learned something many professionals discover themselves: there is no such thing as a typical technology career.

Some people build software. Others work with data, AI, cybersecurity or digital products. Some become entrepreneurs. Others discover their passion along the way. The common thread? Curiosity, continuous learning and a willingness to keep exploring.

"For many young people, a job in technology remains quite abstract, especially now that AI is raising new questions about the future of work. With the Cronos Young Tech Day, we want to inspire and inform students long before they have to make study choices. The goal isn't to make them choose today. It's to help them make stronger choices tomorrow."

Talent Guide at De Cronos Groep

Throughout the day, students asked questions about technology, careers, entrepreneurship and the impact of AI. Some came looking for answers. Others left with even more questions than they arrived with.

And that's perfectly fine.

Because the goal of the Cronos Young Tech Day isn't to tell young people what they should become. It's to show them what's possible.

The Cronos Young Tech Day is part of a broader tradition within De Cronos Groep to make technology and entrepreneurship more accessible to young people. From Digitale Wolven and CoderDojo to Whizzkids and Hack The Future, the ambition remains the same: spark curiosity, share knowledge and help the next generation discover where their talents can take them.

And judging by the number of conversations that continued long after the sessions ended, curiosity is doing just fine.
