We helped Buildwise turn a vast and complex knowledge base into a powerful, user-friendly digital experience. By indexing more than 7,000 technical documents, we laid the foundation for an AI-driven search solution that goes far beyond traditional keyword-based systems.
Buildwise, the innovation center for the Belgian construction sector, manages an extensive knowledge base of over 7,000 PDF documents, covering a wide range of construction-related topics. While this wealth of information is invaluable, finding the right content quickly proved to be a challenge for users relying on traditional search methods.
To overcome this, we set out to transform their static documentation into a dynamic and accessible knowledge platform.
We started by indexing Buildwise’s complete knowledge base, creating a solid foundation for advanced search capabilities.
On top of this, we implemented an AI-powered search solution using Microsoft Azure and AI Search. This allows users to go beyond simple keyword searches and instead ask questions in natural language.
The system understands the intent behind each query and delivers precise, context-aware results directly from the documentation, eliminating the need to manually sift through countless files.
Building on this intelligent search layer, we developed an AI assistant integrated into the Buildwise website.
This assistant enables construction professionals to ask technical questions and receive immediate, well-founded answers based on trusted knowledge sources. It acts as a digital expert, making specialised information more accessible than ever before.
The first version is currently available to logged-in users, with plans to expand access to all website visitors in the near future.
With this solution, Buildwise is evolving into a fully digital knowledge partner for the construction sector. By combining intelligent search with an AI assistant, users can quickly find reliable answers and make better-informed decisions.
